The project is located in a decent estate in Malaysia. John wants to improve the house to suit his family’s lifestyle needs.
The house is in its original condition since it was bought from the market. The issues with the original layout are:
1. Large hall area has no specific purpose
2. Relatively small living and dining area
3. Exceptionally large master bedroom
The spacious master bedroom is divided into 3 parts, the sleeping area, John’s study as well as a large walk-in wardrobe for his wife. I want to maximize floor area efficiency and create space for individual users.
The study room in the first story is converted to a study & playroom for his three young children. Parents could supervise their children while they are in the common area.
The Hall area is improved to house a large island and pantry. John is happy that he is able to work from the dining table while watching his kids and accessing food and drink easily.
